What are the “Knowledge Portals”
we’ve heard so much about?
The Knowledge Portals will be extensive
online resource areas that provide
synthesized information useful to the
wide variety of professionals affiliated
with our subscribing organizations
(from executives to engineers to
communications professionals) as well
as to the media and the general public.
Foundation staff worked collaboratively
to compile and present the Foundation’s
best work to help subscribers and
other drinking water professionals with

In conjunction with the launch of the
new Website, we will present the first
four Knowledge Portals covering the
1. Asset Management
2. Disinfection Byproducts
3. Energy Management
4. Utility Finance
A valuable feature within each Knowledge Portal is
an “Executive Toolbox” that takes highly technical

Our overriding mission is to be a useful and accessible
resource for our subscribers; providing trusted science-based information in a way that it can be applied to their
day-to-day work and ensure their long-term sustainability.
We will continue to enhance the new Website and
maximize the opportunities provided by the new
Knowledge Portals. Additionally, we will continue to
publish the detailed research reports our subscribers
rely on, but explore and adopt new ways to package our
research results, responding to our subscriber needs and
utilizing current and emerging technologies.
Most importantly, the communications team is committed
to learning more about our subscribers’ needs and
wants and utilizing the best ways to meet and exceed
those. The Foundation’s partnership with its subscribers
is remarkably strong. I am thrilled for this opportunity
to work on such an important issue with leading
professionals—both inside and outside the Foundation.
